מינדי לוי

From one birth to the next, Mindy understood that her calling was to become a midwife. She practiced midwifery for twenty-five years both in and outside the hospital. She is also a body-mind psychotherapist, specializing in helping women suffering from post-trauma to process, find meaning and integrate their birth experiences into their lives. Today Levy continues to work as a midwifery educator, teaching, mentoring and supporting midwives. She strongly believes in the educational value of stories, which she has been collecting ever since she first became a midwife. While isolated during the Covid epidemic, she finally wove them together into her first book: Birth Days.

Mindy R. Levy is 66 years old, a mother of three and grandmother of two. She was born and raised in Roslyn Heights, New York, went to college in Maine and lived briefly in California. When she was 23 years old, she traveled to Israel for a year, loved it, and never left. There, she met her husband Avner, and together they raised three half-American Israeli children.
