אילן בכר

Ilan Bahar—author, journalist, and senior editor, was born in Jerusalem and educated at Kibbutz Beit Hashita. He studied law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and was hired as an editorial board member and journalist at the "Maariv" newspaper.

Among his successful and well-received works are the bestselling novel The Brain, about a Jerusalem criminal who originally committed a large safe robbery, This is what I remember – personal evidence of battle shock, the revealing personal biography of dealing with post-trauma, Captive in Command – the cruel story of an Israeli paratrooper captured in the October 1973 war, who was forced to surrender against his will, and more.

His historical fiction novel, The Girl From San-Daniele, is based on his real family story during WW2.

Bahar lives in Tel Aviv and continues to write and edit for major book publishers.
