Dr. Tamar Jehuda Cohen is a doctor of immunology, an inventor, an entrepreneur, an academic lecturer in both science, bioethics, and Judaic studies. A coach and a mentor. Her life was abruptly changed by a giant aneurism in her brain, and complex brain surgeries, which had put her at great risk of death or major disabilities. Loss of speech, epilepsy, terrible pain – while being major challenges for her – were all a misleading mask of cracks and fractures. That was the way the world saw her – broken. Yet, Tamar did not let the fractures define her or control her, and has not only overcome tremendous challenges, but has also turned them into steppingstones towards growth and great happiness.

Tamar is married to Shlomo. They are parents to seven children plus one and are surrounded by tens of grandchildren. Today she supports and guides individuals and families undergoing crisis, focused mainly on head and spinal cord injuries. The Light of Reason is her fourth book.
